One observation; perhaps not always true. I increasingly think live blogging creates an opportunity to build a relationship with a presenter that you may not have had before. In a crowd of hundreds you may not have the opportunity to run up to the stage afterwards, they may also have exited quickly. As they become more aware of social media you have set up an opportunity to introduce yourself, provide your thoughts etc. That's potentially priceless.
