(Our news channels' opinion polls, and quiz and reality shows make a <em>packet</em> on these. And of course they never tell us that when they encourage us to SMS in. Most people think it costs them the same as an ordinary SMS; a buck standard, or less if one is on a special plan.) An international SMS from India costs five bucks. I have tried using the twitter from phone, it works but with delay, not exactly real time. Checked with my service provider - Reliance, they are charging under "special messages" - Rs. 3 per message.
