Companies I have founded/co-founded:

1. Explore Research and Consultancy: based in Mumbai, India. Formed in 1998, Explore specializes in qualitative research and ethnography. I’ve been a qualitative researcher and ethnographer for almost 20 years and have always lived and worked in Mumbai, India. I started my career in 1989, with IMRB International, where I worked 10 years, before leaving to set up my own research consultancy. Client recommendations can be found here.

2. mosoci β - Framing Research & Strategy for a Web 2.0 World. We are a global virtual organization. Our aim is to build a community of peers who believe in helping companies, global and local hold effective conversations about change.

How we do this:
a. Deep Dives: How do you frame where you will parachute in? 1) the capability to go broad to understand deep underlying trends and 2) the capability to move and engage markets and customers. We know this requires exceptionally insightful research, great stories, and the ability to tell them in new and thought-provoking ways. We cut our teeth on scenarios, trend analysis, segmentation and get down and dirty with ethnography, focus groups and interviews. We constantly experiment and want to push the boundaries with emerging social tools (blogs, wikis, SMS, RSS, social networks, beta communities), with clients when and as appropriate.

b. Re-Framing Value: How do you re-perceive where you want to be? Stories change conversations. Conversations lead to better questions which in turn accelerates learning. We work with companies using our research and strategic insight to put them at the forefront of what’s next. We actively encourage disruptive innovation and nurture an agile learning environment to help build relationships for organizational change. We find that the most important changes often come from within. The energy and investment in a project and the outcome value grows exponentially when “discovery” is shared. We facilitate change through workshops, learning journeys, interviews, questionnaires, storytelling, articles, media, remarkable people, speakers etc. Depending on the organization and your needs, this runs from structured to openspace.
